Furniture manufacturing software
A wardrobe, a dining set or a bed rarely leaves as one box. Skuflo gives every box its own barcode, so you can see which orders are complete, which are one piece short, and exactly what is on the van, without chasing anyone on the floor.
Skuflo is furniture manufacturing software for factories that make to order: it labels every piece, tracks it from production to loading, and shows retailers and online sellers the live status of their orders.
How a furniture order moves through Skuflo
- Orders arriveRetailers place them in their portal, you upload a spreadsheet, or your team adds them. Retailer orders wait in a review queue until you accept them.
- A production list builds itselfItems are grouped by product, size and colour, with the pieces counted. Download it as a PDF or CSV and tick lines off as they are made.
- Print one label per boxA flat packed cabinet in four boxes gets four labels. Each carries a Code 128 barcode and a QR code.
- Scan it when it is madeThe piece goes into stock against its order. Add racks and bays if you want to know exactly where it sits.
- Scan it onto the vanLoading is checked piece by piece, then closed with a driver name, photo and signature. Skuflo blocks a piece going on the wrong retailer’s load.
Furniture production tracking at the level of the box
Furniture is awkward to track because the thing a customer ordered and the thing you ship are not the same. One sofa table is one line on the order and three boxes in the warehouse. If two of the three are made, the order is not ready, but a simple tick list says it is half done and nobody knows which half.
Skuflo counts pieces, not products. You tell it how many pieces each SKU ships as, and every order is expanded into the real boxes. The order only shows as made when every piece has been scanned. Our guide to tracking multi piece products explains the method in more detail.
It also suits made to order work. There is no forecast to maintain and no minimum batch. The order exists first, you build it, and it sits in the warehouse only until the next van. That is where production tracking and inventory management meet.
Supplying retailers and online sellers
If you sell through shops and online sellers, most of your emails start with “where is my order?”. Every retailer you supply gets a free portal with their own login. They see only their own orders, piece by piece, with scan photos and delivery notes. They can place orders and upload their own sheets there too.
On the Growth plan the portal carries your own branding. If you would rather connect your retailers’ systems, there is a REST API and signed webhooks for events such as order produced and order dispatched. See retailers for the full picture.
| The old way | With Skuflo |
|---|---|
| A shared spreadsheet that goes out of date by lunchtime | A live status for every piece, updated by scans |
| Phone calls to check if the last box is made | The order shows exactly which pieces are missing |
| Loading by eye and hoping the count is right | Each piece is scanned onto the load and checked against the retailer |
| Retailers emailing for proof of dispatch | A signed manifest and delivery note in their portal |
What Skuflo does not do
Skuflo tracks finished pieces. It does not manage raw materials, purchasing, bills of materials, planning, costing or accounting, and it has no CAD or cutting lists. Keep your existing software for those and use Skuflo for the floor, the stock and the dispatch. If you are weighing it against a full planning system, see how it compares with Katana and MRPeasy, or with plain spreadsheets.
There is no offline scanning today, and the iPhone and Android store apps are coming soon. Scan stations run in any browser, and there is a native Android app that works with Zebra handhelds.
Pricing that fits a busy factory
Skuflo is priced per piece tracked, not per seat. Every plan includes unlimited users and stations, so every bench and loading bay can have a scanner. Plans start at £249 a month for 1,000 pieces, excluding VAT, with a 14 day free trial. See pricing for the rest.
Questions people ask
What is the best software for a small furniture manufacturer?
It depends what hurts most. If the pain is knowing which orders are complete, where stock is and what went on the van, Skuflo is built for exactly that. If you need purchasing and materials planning, you will want something else alongside it.
Can Skuflo track furniture that ships in several boxes?
Yes. You set how many pieces each SKU ships as, and every box gets its own label. The order is only complete when all its pieces have been scanned.
Do my retailers need to pay?
No. Every retailer gets a free portal with their own login, showing only their own orders.
Is it furniture inventory software?
For finished goods, yes. Made pieces count as stock until they are loaded, with optional racks and bays and returns scanned back in. These stock features are on the Growth plan and up. It does not track raw materials.
What equipment do I need?
Any USB or Bluetooth barcode scanner that types like a keyboard, a phone camera or a Zebra handheld, plus a printer for labels. Labels come as PDF or ZPL II for thermal printers. The free scanner test checks your kit first.
