Upholstery production tracking
Upholstery is made to order in dozens of fabrics, and one wrong colour is a return. Skuflo puts the SKU, description and fabric colour on every label, tracks every section of a sofa or headboard, and shows what is ready to ship.
Skuflo is upholstery production tracking software: each sofa section, chair or headboard is labelled with its fabric and colour, scanned when made, and checked again when it is loaded.
How an upholstered order is tracked
- The order names the fabricProduct, size and colour stay together on the order line, whether it comes from a retailer portal, an upload or your own team.
- The list groups by fabricThe production list is grouped by product, size and colour, so cutters and upholsterers can batch the same fabric together.
- Each section gets a labelA corner sofa in three sections gets three labels, each with a barcode, a QR code and the colour.
- Scan it when it is finishedThe finished section is scanned at a Made station. An optional photo captures the finish before it is wrapped.
- Check it again at the vanLoading scans every section against the retailer’s load, so the wrong fabric or the wrong order does not leave the building.
Why colour is the hard part of upholstery
A sofa in the wrong fabric is not a small mistake. It cannot be fixed with a quick swap, it is expensive to collect and remake, and it sours the retailer relationship. Most of these errors do not happen on the bench. They happen when a box is picked up at the end, because every grey box looks alike.
Because Skuflo prints the colour on every label and checks each piece at loading, the last line of defence is a scanner rather than somebody’s eyes. The piece is also tied to an order and a retailer, and the system blocks loading onto the wrong retailer’s load.
| Where mistakes creep in | What Skuflo adds |
|---|---|
| Fabric rolls batched on a paper list | A production list grouped by product, size and colour |
| Sections of a sofa separated in the warehouse | One label per section, so a missing piece is visible straight away |
| Wrong colour loaded at the end of the day | A scan at loading and a block on the wrong retailer’s load |
| Disputes about what was sent | Scan history with optional photo, plus a signed manifest |
Sections, headboards and chairs
Whether the product is a sofa in several sections, a set of dining chairs or a headboard, the logic is the same: tell Skuflo how many pieces each SKU ships as, and each piece is labelled and tracked on its own. A three seater might be one piece, a corner suite might be four. Both are fine.
- Optional photo at the Made station, off, optional or required.
- Optional worker and workstation names, if you want to know who finished what.
- Reprint, void or remake a label if a piece is rebuilt.
- Returns can be scanned back in on a Returns station on the Growth plan and up.

What Skuflo does not do
Skuflo does not buy, cut or cost your fabric. There is no raw material tracking, no bill of materials, no cutting lists, no CAD and no accounting. It tracks the finished pieces after the order is accepted. Keep your own method for fabric stock and cutting, and use Skuflo for what gets made, what is in stock and what leaves on the van.
Run it from any workshop
Scan stations run in a browser, so a phone, a tablet or a laptop will do, and any USB or Bluetooth scanner that types like a keyboard works too. There is also a native Android app for Zebra handhelds. Pair each station with a QR code and it is locked to a single job. Users and stations are unlimited, and pricing is per piece tracked. Questions people ask
Can Skuflo print the fabric colour on a label?
Yes. The SKU, description and colour of each item print on its label alongside a Code 128 barcode and a QR code.
How are sofas that ship in sections handled?
Set how many pieces the SKU ships as. Each section then has its own label and is scanned separately, and the order only shows as complete when all sections are done.
Does it stop the wrong fabric being loaded?
Every piece is scanned at loading, and Skuflo blocks a piece going on the wrong retailer’s load. It checks the piece against the order, so mistakes are caught before the van leaves.
Can I take a photo of finished work?
Yes. Photos at a station can be off, optional or required, and they are stored with the scan.
Does it track fabric stock?
No. Skuflo tracks finished pieces, not raw materials. Use your current method for fabric and foam.
