Inventory management software for manufacturers
Every finished piece gets its own barcode, so your stock count is simply what has been scanned as made and not yet loaded. No stocktake, no guessing which rack it is on, no selling something that is still on the saw.
Skuflo is finished goods inventory software for make to order manufacturers: each piece is labelled, scanned when it is made, scanned into a rack and bay, and scanned onto the van, so stock is always a live count of real pieces.
How stock stays right without a stocktake
- Label every pieceOrders become labels, one for every part a product ships as. A divan set in three boxes gets three labels.
- Scan it when it is madeThe Made station scans the label. That piece is now in stock, against its order and retailer.
- Scan it into a bayTurn on racks and bays and the station asks for the bay. Anyone can find any piece in seconds.
- Scan it onto the vanLoading takes the piece out of stock and onto a signed load. Stock drops by exactly what left.
Inventory software built for make to order, not for a shop
Most inventory management software is written for retailers and wholesalers: buy stock in, store it, sell it, reorder. A factory that makes to order works the other way round. The order exists first, the product is built for it, and it sits in the warehouse only until the van leaves.
So the questions you need answered are different. Has this order been made yet? Which pieces of it are still missing? Where is it? Is it on today’s load? Skuflo answers those at piece level, because a bed, a sofa or a wardrobe rarely leaves as one box.
| Question | Typical inventory app | Skuflo |
|---|---|---|
| What do I count? | Quantities of a SKU | Individual pieces, each with its own barcode |
| How does stock change? | Manual adjustments and stocktakes | Scans at Made, bay and Loading |
| Where is it? | A warehouse or a bin, if someone typed it | The rack and bay scanned when it was put away |
| Who is it for? | Not tracked until it is sold | Every piece belongs to an order and a retailer from the start |
| Can the customer see it? | No | Yes, in their free retailer portal |
What you can see at any moment
- Every piece that is made but not loaded, by product, retailer, order and age.
- Orders that are part made, with the exact pieces still missing.
- Pieces sitting in stock too long, so nothing is forgotten in a corner.
- Which rack and bay each piece is in, if you use racks (you can switch them off).
- Returns scanned back in on a Returns station, so they are counted too.
- A full history for every piece: who scanned it, where, when, with an optional photo.
Stock, racks and returns are on the Growth plan and up. See pricing.
What Skuflo does not do
Skuflo tracks finished goods from the moment they are made until they are loaded. It does not manage raw materials, purchasing, bills of materials or costing. If you need those, keep your MRP or accounting system for them and use Skuflo for the floor, the stock and the dispatch, where most order chasing happens. Our comparison with Katana and with MRPeasy explain where each one fits.
Set up in an afternoon
- Upload your orders as a spreadsheet or let your retailers place them in their portal.
- Tell Skuflo how many pieces each SKU ships as (one sheet upload).
- Print the day’s labels on any thermal printer or as a PDF.
- Pair a phone, a handheld or a USB scanner as a station with a QR code. Run the free scanner test first.
There is no charge per user or per station, so every workstation and loading bay can scan. You pay for pieces tracked each month, from £249. Read the guide to inventory management for manufacturers for the method behind it.
Questions people ask
Is Skuflo inventory management software?
Yes, for finished goods. It tracks every made piece as stock until it is loaded, with rack and bay locations and returns. It does not track raw materials or purchasing.
Do I still need to do a stocktake?
Stock is counted from scans, so there is nothing to reconcile day to day. If you use racks, open any bay in Skuflo to see exactly what should be on it, which makes a spot check quick.
Can it handle products that ship in several boxes?
Yes. You set how many pieces each SKU ships as, and every piece gets its own label and is counted on its own. An order only shows as made when all its pieces are scanned.
What scanners do I need?
Any USB or Bluetooth barcode scanner that types like a keyboard, a phone camera, or a Zebra handheld. See hardware.
How much does it cost?
From £249 a month for 1,000 pieces, with unlimited users and stations. Stock and returns start on Growth at £449 a month. Prices exclude VAT. There is a 14 day free trial.
