Production tracking

Production tracking software that updates itself

Your production list is built from the orders you have accepted, and every piece scanned as made ticks it forward. No whiteboard, no end of day spreadsheet, no walking the floor to ask what is finished.

Skuflo is production tracking software for make to order manufacturers: it builds the production list automatically from orders, then tracks every piece in real time as workers scan it as made at a station locked to one job.

How production tracking works in Skuflo

  1. Accept the ordersOrders arrive from retailer portals, spreadsheet uploads, the API or your own team. Retailer orders wait in a Review queue until you accept them.
  2. Get the production listSkuflo groups accepted orders by product, size and colour, splits them by product type and counts the pieces. Download it as a PDF or CSV.
  3. Scan each piece as madeA Made station scans the label on every piece the moment it is finished. The list shows how many pieces are scanned in.
  4. Watch orders completeAn order is made when all of its pieces are scanned. Part made orders show exactly which pieces are missing.

A production list that builds itself

In most factories the production list is somebody’s job. Orders are copied into a spreadsheet, grouped by hand, printed, and out of date by lunchtime. Skuflo removes that job. Once an order is accepted it joins the list, grouped item first by product, size and colour so the people cutting, building and upholstering can work in batches.

The list is split by product type, so each team sees its own work. You can download it as a PDF to pin up or a CSV for another tool, and tick lines off as they are made. Next to each line is the count of pieces already scanned in, so you can see progress without asking.

Made scans, part made orders and scanned in counts

Real time production tracking only works if recording progress is quicker than not recording it. A scan takes a second: point a phone, a USB or Bluetooth scanner or a Zebra handheld at the label. Each station is locked to one job, so a Made station can only record made pieces. A worker cannot scan something into the wrong stage by accident.

  • Pair a station with a QR code from the web app. There is no charge per station or per user.
  • Choose whether a photo is off, optional or required on each scan, and whether to record GPS location.
  • Record the worker and the workstation if you want to know who built what.
  • Flag an order that needs attention so it stands out on the list.
  • Follow the order history timeline to see every scan and change against an order.

Because labels are printed one per piece, a product that ships in several parts is tracked part by part. A divan set made as a base in two parts plus a headboard is not made until all three pieces are scanned. See SKU tracking for how pieces are set up.

Analytics, without more admin

Every scan is data. The dashboard and analytics are built from the same scans your team already makes, so there is nothing extra to key in. You can see how work is moving through the factory and where orders are waiting, then share status with retailers through their free retailer portal instead of answering the same phone calls every morning.

What Skuflo does not do

Skuflo tracks the pieces you make from the orders you have. It does not plan production, schedule machines, work out materials, or manage bills of materials, purchasing or costing. If you need MRP, keep it, and use Skuflo for the floor, where an order becomes a made piece. There is no offline scanning today, so scan stations need a connection. See how this differs from spreadsheets and Katana.

Follow the full method in the guide to production tracking, and pair it with inventory management once pieces are made.

Questions people ask

Is Skuflo production tracking software?

Yes, for make to order manufacturers. It builds the production list from orders and tracks each piece as it is scanned as made. It does not do production planning, scheduling or materials.

How is the production list created?

Automatically. Accepted orders are grouped item first by product, size and colour, split by product type and counted in pieces. You can download it as a PDF or CSV and tick lines off as they are made.

What happens when an order is only part made?

It shows as part made, with the pieces already scanned in and the pieces still missing. It only counts as made when every piece has been scanned.

Can workers scan the wrong job by mistake?

Each station is locked to one job, such as Made, Returns or Loading. A Made station records made pieces and nothing else, which keeps the data clean.

What does it cost?

From £249 a month for 1,000 pieces, with unlimited users and stations. Prices exclude VAT and there is a 14 day free trial. See pricing.
